Pause and Stand-by Mode and Mute enhancements in Larix Broadcaster

Larix Broadcaster, our professional mobile streaming app, just got even more flexible with the latest update of Pause and Stand-by modes — a highly requested feature set designed to give you more control during live broadcasts.

With the Pause feature, you can temporarily halt your video and audio without stopping the connection to the server. This is perfect for taking short breaks or handling behind-the-scenes adjustments, all while keeping your session active. When you’re ready, simply resume streaming without any reconnection delay or disruption.

Tap a Pause button on the preview screen.

The resulting stream has no audio and a black screen with the overlay of your choice.

The Stand-by mode is another way to set Pause, it just allows starting the stream with Pause mode already in effect.

The detailed settings are accessible via Settings in Pause mode menu. There you can select overlays and define other parameters.

Mute audio defines if the audio must be muted during Pause or Standby modes.

Blackout preview defines if you want to disable camera during Pause and Standby. By default, you’ll see image from the camera while your viewers will not.

Start in Standby mode is disabled by default but you may want to start the connection selected by default, once Larix is launched. This is useful for remote control scenarios when the device can be launched on set by any available person while all operations are done remotely.

A few other cosmetic settings are there as well, feel free to play around.

Mute mode setup

As you see, you may also define the behavior of Mute mode. That would be a set of overlays that are shown when you mute the the stream. This may be some picture indicating that the stream is not broken, but it’s just a temporary pause in audio.

Larix Tuner setup

All the setup is also available through Larix Tuner. There you can define the set of overlays and then operate pause as you need, when the device is in remote control mode. All settings that you see in Larix Broadcaster, are available there.

This update is available now on both Android and iOS. Learn more about how to use these new capabilities by visiting our Larix Broadcaster page.

This feature set allows seamless transitions during live production and offer new creative options for mobile streamers on the go. Experience a smoother, more controlled mobile broadcasting workflow with Larix — your go-to tool for professional live streaming.
