Efficient tools to build your streaming infrastructure

Remote control

Larix Tuner has various features more remote control and production

Larix Broadcaster is widely used for remote contribution scenarios and REMI in general.
However, these use cases require more interactions between you as the producer in the studio and the operators’ devices:

  • You need to view and change remote devices’ settings, such as new connections, talkback, encoding parameters
  • In some cases, you must perform actions: start/stop streaming, mute/unmute, manipulate with cameras, enable overlays, etc.

Larix Tuner can help you with that.

Capabilities for remote production

Larix Tuner provides such capabilities for remote production teams. You can do the following with Larix Broadcaster instances at remote devices on-the-fly:

  • Configure streaming connections for live streaming.
  • Configure talkback connections.
  • Define video and audio encoder settings.
  • Configure overlays.
  • Enable/disable recording on device.
  • Start/stop/pause/resume live streams.
  • Switch camera, control zooming and other camera settings.
  • Mute/unmute, set input gain and other audio parameters.
  • Enable/disable overlays.
  • Preview video feed in control UI real-time.

All settings and actions from Larix Broadcaster UI are accessible via Tuner web UI.

They are all applied within just a few seconds of delay.

Workflow

We assume the operator with the device in the field has Larix Tuner license activated.

  • Before the event starts, operator passes full control to Larix Tuner over the Broadcaster instance by tapping on “Pass control to Larix Tuner” button in the app menu.
  • After establishing the communication, producer gets access to current Broadcaster settings in Tuner web UI and is able to change them.
  • Operator cannot change any settings from that point but is able to control some behavior such as start/stop/pause/resume the stream and do some other actions.
  • Producer can make changes to operator’s Broadcaster instance, such as apply new settings, initiate actions like start/stop/pause, control overlays and much more.
  • Broadcaster instance is under producer’s control until the producer releases that control back to operator from web UI.

This way you can manage your fleet of devices remotely and arrange any REMI setup you like.
